Jonathan B. Waxman is an experienced litigator who represents clients in securities, entertainment, and general business matters.  Jonathan is adept at guiding clients at all stages of litigation, including in trial proceedings.

Jonathan has successfully resolved investor class actions, merger litigation, and other complex business disputes, as well as civil fraud investigations, for prominent public companies and their officers and directors in a range of industries, including financial services and energy.

  • Representing a footwear company and its board of directors in a securities class action suit and related matters.
  • Representing a technology manufacturer and its board of directors in a securities class action suit in CA state court. Plaintiffs allege violations of the Securities Act of 1933.
  • Representing a consumer electronics company on appeal in a securities derivative suit, where OMM obtained dismissal of the suit on a demurrer.
  • Represented an oil and gas production company in defending a series of investor class actions challenging public disclosures in connection with the company’s purchase and merger of a series of previously independent limited partnerships
  • Defended a publicly traded Fortune 500 company through trial in a complex merger litigation arising from its acquisition via mergers of several limited partnerships in which it served as the general partner
  • Represented the former CEO of a financial services company in civil investigations led by the Department of Justice
  • Represented affiliates of one of China’s largest conglomerates in M&A related litigation
  • Represented the plaintiffs in a business dispute arising out of the termination and alleged squeeze-out of one of the founding members of a prominent investment management company
  • On a pro bono basis, obtained an award from the Labor Commissioner on behalf of four former restaurant employees for the entire amount that clients sought.
