Mike Simeone is a well-rounded litigator with experience in matters spanning the technology, finance, insurance, and health-care industries, as well as those involving schools and universities. He devotes much of his practice to counseling clients through sensitive internal investigations and inquiries by federal and state enforcement authorities, as well as multi-jurisdictional inquiries involving foreign regulators. Before returning to O’Melveny in 2018, Mike served as a law clerk to the Honorable William H. Walls in the District of New Jersey.

  • Advised an electric-vehicle and technology company on a wide range of issues in connection with its U.S. operations, including regulatory matters before multiple state and local agencies.
  • Represented an insurance company in coverage disputes relating to environmental-pollution investigation and remediation costs, including a jury trial.
  • Represented individuals in a multi-regulator, cross-border investigation relating to a large financial institution’s anti-money laundering controls.
  • Represented an individual in a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation conducted by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission relating to defense procurement.
  • Represented a large financial institution in connection with a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Reserve involving the firm’s hiring practices abroad.

Mike also maintains an active and varied pro bono practice, including:

  • Winning pre-trial dismissal of state-court misdemeanor charges.
  • Successfully defending on appeal a Family Court order granting full child custody to a victim of domestic violence.
