Sarah Knapton

Sarah was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2007 (Middle Temple) and practiced at the self-employed Bar from 2007 to May 2012, focusing on commercial and chancery litigation. In 2012, she won a Pegasus Scholarship to spend three months in Hong Kong, which included acting as a marshal to the Honourable Mr. Justice Frank Stock, vice president of the Court of Appeal. Her arbitration experience includes acting as junior counsel, working with the HKIAC, and marshalling with Neil Kaplan CBE QC SBS in international commercial arbitrations. Sarah has also acted as counsel in mediations and negotiations.

• Junior in planning enquiry, concerning provision of affordable housing, in respect of quantum surveyor evidence.
• Counsel for defendant banks, in various mis-selling claims and claims for the repayment of bank charges.
• Acting as investigation and prosecution counsel for an insurance regulator to investigate and settle, by negotiation, claims of breach by an insurance broker.
• Acting for a listed company in a professional negligence claim against an accounting firm, arising out of a qualified audit.
• Assisting a listed company in relation to an investigation by the Hong Kong Exchange.
• Acting various contractual and tortious disputes, advising on liability, drafting, acting as trial counsel, and assisting in negotiating settlements.
