Financial Sanctions and Penalties for Cybercrime

June 29, 2017

O'Melveny partner Ron Cheng authored the June 28, 2017, blog post, "Financial Sanctions and Penalties for Cybercrime," for Lawfare. As cybercrime spreads in its many mutations, governments and regulators across the globe continue to develop a variety of solutions. In the article, Cheng discusses one regulatory method that has gained in popularity and sophistication in recent years, the financial response to cybercrime.

Cheng handles both anti-corruption and data security and privacy matters and is co-located in Hong Kong and Los Angeles. He is one of very few Mandarin-speaking attorneys with experience in both US and Chinese criminal law enforcement.
