Cheng Explores US Regulatory Interest in Chinese Bribery

O’Melveny partner Ron Cheng authored the October 28, 2016, Forbes.com column “A Chinese Company Bribes a Chinese Official: Does the US Care?” In the piece, Cheng considers whether the US Department of Justice or Securities and Exchange Commission would try to exercise FCPA jurisdiction over a foreign company that isn’t listed on a US stock exchange but does have US operations for an alleged bribe overseas.
