O’Melveny partner Brian Brooks will be a panelist at American Enterprise Institute Legal Center For The Public Interest's annual preview of the US Supreme Court's upcoming term on October 2, held in Washington, DC. Brooks will be discussing key business cases and current and recent events, especially the financial crisis, the new administration, the arrival of a new solicitor general, and the composition of the Court. He and his fellow panelists will also discuss how these factors may affect the Justices' future course.
Joining Brooks on the panel are the former Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, John P. Elwood (now a partner at Vinson & Elkins), and Jeremy Rabkin, professor of law at George Mason University. AEI's John G. Searle Scholar, Michael S. Greve, will moderate the discussion.
