O’Melveny partner Ted Kassinger will speak on the panel “Sanctions and the Next US Presidential Administration” on September 8, 2016, at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) in Washington, DC.
The event will coincide with the release of a CNAS report titled “The Next Generation of Sanctions: A Strategy of Coercive Economic Policy for the Next President,” part of the CNAS Papers for the Next President series.
The panel will address:
- the next US president’s use of sanctions within a broader national security
- the foremost challenges he or she will have to confront on sanctions
- key domestic and foreign relationships the next president will need to forge to advance the use of sanctions as a foreign policy tool
- immediate actions on sanctions the next president should take
