O’Melveny counsel David Lash will be speaking at the ABA’s 2009 Equal Justice Conference to be held May 14-16, in Orlando, Florida. The Equal Justice Conference brings together all components of the legal community to discuss equal justice issues as they relate to the delivery of legal services to the poor and low-income individuals in need of legal assistance.
Lash will be leading the workshop, "Pro Bono & Provision of Legal Services During Challenging Economic Times," examining the issues that have arisen from the country’s financial crisis and focusing on ways the public interest community is overcoming those challenges. Lash will also be speaking on "Challenges to the Successful Launch of National Pro Bono Efforts," discussing the challenges and benefits of organizing a national effort through collaboration with local partners. Panelists will examine initiatives that address national issues through the dissemination and replication of delivery models at the local level such as the Holocaust Reparations and Election Protection projects.
