McKeen to Speak on Recent Trends in Class Certification Motion Practice

August 13-14, 2009
O'Melveny counsel Elizabeth Lemond McKeen will speak at Bridgeport Continuing Education's Eighth Annual Class Action Litigation Conference, to be held August 13-14 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. This two-day seminar will cover the latest developments in federal and California class actions law, as well as procedural advice from leaders in the field. The conference is designed to give both practicing attorneys and in-house counsel in-depth knowledge of each step in the process of litigating class actions, with an emphasis on the procedural rules and practice.

McKeen will be discussing recent trends in class certification motion practice, including arguments regarding claims shaving, whether Twombly/Iqbal pleading arguments ultimately affect class certification, and how heavy federal or state regulation affects the superiority analysis.
