O'Rourke to Speak at Los Angeles County Bar Association Antitrust & Unfair Business Practices Section presentation on "The Intersection of Criminal Antitrust Enforcement and Civil Litigation."

The Antitrust & Unfair Business Practices Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association will present a substantive continuing legal education program, "The Intersection of Criminal Antitrust Enforcement and Civil Litigation," on Thursday, April 15, 2010. The program's panelists will discuss issues and tensions that arise in parallel antitrust criminal investigations, civil class actions and opt-out cases in federal and state courts. Speakers will include Kate Patchen with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, San Francisco Field Office, Kenneth R. O'Rourke with O'Melveny & Myers, and others. Program topics will include: follow-on of civil litigation in the wake of criminal proceedings; DOJ intervention and requests for stay; discovery; implications of the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act and Fifth Amendment and guilty pleas.
