O’Rourke to Speak at the American Bar Association’s “International Cartel Workshop”February 1-3, 2012
O’Rourke will serve as a panel leader and panelist for the demonstration entitled, “Conducting the Internal Investigation -- Legal, Ethical and Practical Issues Faced by Corporate Counsel in Dealing with Corporate Employees.” His panels will discuss the hypothetical situation of how to handle an internal investigation at European and U.S. facilities of an Australia-headquartered corporation that has not obtained amnesty or immunity markers in the North American, European, Asian and South American jurisdictions that are or will be pursuing antitrust and competition cases against the company.
The International Cartel Workshop, recognized globally as the premier international cartel program, is presented once every two years. The 2012 program will continue the Workshop’s tradition of instruction by demonstration, with a faculty of 75 highly experienced attorneys from around the globe taking participants inside a hypothetical international cartel matter. The Workshop will also highlight new developments in the law and leniency practices around the world, with leading enforcers and experienced private practitioners demonstrating how critical decisions are made on both sides of the table and providing examples of important interactions between counsel and enforcers.
