Parker to Participate in AEI Transatlantic Law ForumSeptember 3-4, 2009
O'Melveny partner Rich Parker will be a panelist at the Transatlantic Law Forum, a project of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and the Council on Public Policy, to be held September 3-4 at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. The conference will examine the international "business of law," and will include leading scholars, practitioners, and judges from the United States and Europe.
Panelists will discuss the organization of the professional bar, the pattern of private litigation in various venues, and the strategic choice of legal forums, including arbitration.
Parker's panel, "Antitrust and Competition," will examine how various approaches to antitrust law have shaped the conduct and organization of private enterprise. Onno Brouwer of Freshfields' Amsterdam office, and Damien Geradin of Howrey's Brussels office will also participate as panelists. Christopher Harding of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth will moderate.
AEI is a private, nonpartisan, not-for-profit institution dedicated to research and education on issues of government, politics, economics, and social welfare.
