Parker to Speak at Antitrust in the Americas ConferenceJune 16-17, 2011
O'Melveny partner Richard Parker (DC) will speak at the first conference jointly sponsored by the American Bar Association and the Brazilian Association for Studies on Competition entitled, "Antitrust in the Americas Conference," to be held June 16-17, 2011, in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
The Antitrust in the Americas Conference will cover new developments in competition law and policy in the Americas, with a special focus on Latin American countries. Richard will speak on a panel discussing the prominent role the United States gives to private plaintiffs and their attorneys to serve as "private attorneys general" in the enforcement of antitrust law and whether the model is right for Latin American countries.
