Tubach to Speak at 21st Annual Golden State InstituteOctober 27, 2011
O'Melveny partner Michael Tubach (SF) will be speaking at the California State Bar Association’s 21st Annual Golden State Antitrust & Unfair Competition Law Institute, to be held on October 27 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.
Tubach will moderate a panel entitled " Trial Complexities in Antitrust Cases following Clayworth: Competing Views of Different Plaintiffs’ Groups and Defendants," which will discuss strategic and procedural complexities and opportunities when antitrust claims brought by a class of direct purchasers, a class of indirect purchasers, direct action plaintiffs (i.e., opt outs) and/or the State Attorneys General are on the brink of trial, and the parties and the court are wrestling with how to structure a joint trial or a series of trials.
In addition to moderating the panel, Michael will be one of the leading defense lawyers presenting a defense lawyers' perspective on these issues. Leading class action plaintiffs' lawyers will counter with their views.
