Xistris Presents on Over-the-Counter Derivatives to Investment Company Institute

On September 9, O’Melveny senior counsel Demetrios Xistris (NY) made a presentation concerning OTC derivatives to senior legal, accounting, lobbying, and other professionals of the Investment Company Institute (ICI) in Washington, DC.  Also attending was partner Bill Satchell (DC).The two-hour-long presentation, which was requested by the ICI, covered the character and uses of OTC derivatives, the current structure of the OTC derivatives market, and an outline of the proposals for regulation of the market as reflected in the Over-the-Counter Derivatives Markets Act of 2009 submitted to Congress by the Administration.
