Law360 Names Lee and Morales “Rising Stars”

NEW YORK—July 13, 2021—O’Melveny partner Jeeho Lee and counsel Tristan Morales were named to Law360’s annual list of “Rising Stars” recognizing attorneys under 40 whose “legal accomplishments belie their age.” Editors from the publication reviewed more than 1,400 submissions before making this year’s selection.
Law360 noted that Lee has “established herself as top-tier capital markets attorney,” helping top clients reach their fundraising goals. Of her significant achievements in the last year, Lee told the publication she was most excited about cannabis lender Advanced Flower Capital Gamma’s $100 million initial public offering. The first business of its kind, AFC Gamma has worked closely with Lee since its founding. “We measure our success by our client's success, so that's a success story,” she said.
O’Melveny’s firmwide hiring partner, Lee continually looks for opportunities to increase diversity within the firm. Morales was recognized as a top transportation attorney for his successful defense of several major airlines in class actions concerning pilots’ military leaves of absence. “Airline pilots often have a military background, and we’ve seen a wave of these lawsuits,” Morales told Law360. He helped an O’Melveny team win summary judgment motions for American Airlines and United Airlines, effectively eliminating their respective class actions before they left the ground.
His favorite part of being a transportation attorney is getting to work in such a dynamic industry. “For me, being a transportation attorney has given me a seat at the table to learn from people across the industry — pilots, flight attendants, schedulers, etc. — who are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the industry,” Morales said.
