O’Melveny helps companies reshape their businesses and gain competitive edges through the execution of strategic M&A and investment programs.

Our 150-lawyer international M&A team has helped clients around the world close more than US$1 trillion in deals over the last five years. And we are as versatile as today’s fast-evolving markets demand, with fluency across the full range of public and private M&A transactions, asset deals, corporate venture investments, carve-outs and split-offs, joint ventures, and hostile, activist, and other contested situations.

We offer clients a distinctively collaborative and user-friendly approach designed to bring our strongest and most relevant experience to bear, with seamlessly integrated transactional, securities, finance, tax planning, executive compensation, antitrust, IP and commercial, environmental, labor and employment, and CFIUS capabilities, often delivered on a cross-border basis.

What sets us apart from other top-tier practices is our focus on our clients’ top-level corporate objectives. We are not a cookie-cutter deal factory. We recognize that each deal we handle is not only unique and driven by particular strategic motivations and client-specific dynamics, but of enormous consequence to our internal clients and their many stakeholders. We act as true business partners—as invested as our clients are—and help bring about outcomes that set our clients up for long-term success.
