ABA Law Section: Antitrust Magazine Fall 2023 Edition

November 16, 2023

The ABA Antitrust Magazine featured O’Melveny partners Ian Simmons and Anna Pletcher in its Fall issue released this November.

Simmons, who is also co-chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition practice, moderated a panel during the ABA Spring Meeting which inspired a second presentation delivered in August which outlined best practices for trying a section 2 case. Simmons interviewed Doug Melamed from Stanford Law School, Christopher Yoo from University of Pennsylvania Law School, Bonny Sweeney from the US Department of Justice, and John Roberti from Cohen Gresser about best practices in trying a monopolization case.

O’Melveny partner Anna Pletcher joined a panel of experts from a range of backgrounds including government-enforcement, private firm, and in-house for a roundtable discussion on the DOJ Leniency Program. The panelists explored the mechanics of how the program works and how its requirements can be satisfied, as well as practice challenges, trends in Cartel detection, and potential lessons from the Securities and Exchange Commission’s whistleblower program.
