LA County Bar Annual Securities Regulation Seminar

O’Melveny of counsel Michele Layne and partner Shelley Heyduk are taking a prominent role in the 2026 LA County Bar Annual Securities Regulation Seminar. Layne is a Program Co-Chair for the conference and will also moderate the fireside chat with the honorable Margaret Ryan, SEC Director of Enforcement. Heyduk will be a featured panelist for a roundtable discussion on navigating regulators, whistleblowers, and privilege issues in a corporate crisis. The conference will also feature SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce and Jim Maloney, the Director of the SEC Division of Corporation Finance.
Prior to joining O’Melveny, Michele Layne had a distinguished career at the Securities and Exchange Commission, where she served as the SEC’s Los Angeles Regional Director and now leverages her extensive SEC experience to represent and advise corporate clients, as well as their officers and directors, on securities enforcement matters, internal and regulatory investigations, and governance and compliance issues.
Shelly Heyduk serves as Co-Chair of O’Melveny’s Public Company Advisory Practice. Shelly advises public companies on a wide range of securities law and corporate governance matters, including SEC reporting and disclosure under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, shareholder meetings and compliance with the proxy rules, and compliance with NYSE and NASDAQ corporate governance requirements, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and related regulations.
