O’Melveny Partner Jim Bowman Named to Daily Journal’s 2023 List of “Top White Collar Lawyers”

LOS ANGELES—December 14, 2023—O’Melveny partner Jim Bowman has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2023 list of “Top White Collar Lawyers.” The special report honors the top performing attorneys in California specializing in white-collar defense.
Based in O’Melveny’s Los Angeles office, Bowman is a skilled litigator and former federal prosecutor. His practice focuses on defending individuals and companies in complex federal criminal investigations and cases, with extensive experience on public corruption, campaign finance, and healthcare fraud matters.
The Daily Journal lauded Bowman for leading the O’Melveny trial team that successfully defended Tom Barrack, former Executive Chairman and CEO of Colony Capital, in a federal criminal case in which Barrack was charged with acting as an undisclosed foreign agent for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as obstruction of justice and making false statements during an interview with the FBI. In November 2022, Barrack was acquitted on all counts after a seven-week trial.
Bowman has previously served as Deputy Chief in the Major Frauds Section and as the Securities Fraud Coordinator in the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
