O’Melveny Partners Jason Zarrow and Mark Liang Named 2025 “Rising Stars” by Law360

NEW YORK—August 15, 2025— O’Melveny partners Jason Zarrow and Mark Liang have been named to Law360’s 2025 list of “Rising Stars,” which recognizes attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments belie their age.
Based in Los Angeles, Jason Zarrow is an appellate lawyer whose practice is devoted to creating and executing legal strategy for bet-the-company litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels. Jason’s expertise spans multiple industries, including transportation, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, consumer products, healthcare, insurance, and financial services.
In his award profile, Zarrow told Law360 that he finds the variety inherent in appellate work interesting and likes the fact that as an appellate attorney, he's exposed to a lot of different types of cases. He said: "I like being presented with new problems to solve.”
Based in San Francisco, Mark Liang focuses his legal practice on patent and technology-related litigation. He has experience in all stages of patent cases, including claim construction, fact and expert discovery, dispositive motions, trial, post-trial, and appeal. He represents clients in federal courts, the International Trade Commission, and United States Patent and Trademark Office, including reexaminations and inter partes review (IPR).
In his award profile, Liang told Law360 that while “he can't point to a singular moment in his career that he defines as his proudest,” “he values the impressive record he has built over the course of his career” including jury trial victories and dozens more complete defense victories before trial.
