O'Melveny partner and chief operating officer George Demos has been honored as a recipient of The Recorder’s 2025 Distinguished Leader Award. In a Q&A with the publication, Demos described his approach to leadership, saying: “I try to draw on experiences from my career—challenges I faced, opportunities I was given, to guide how I lead. I know from personal experience that well-being and success are inextricably intertwined. That is my north star.” He added: “I actively seek to understand the mental health challenges people are facing and find solutions for them. I hope my leadership style is empowering and inspiring. I want my passion for my work to ignite passion in others and prepare them to fly and soar. I try to be vulnerable and authentic. Managing so many diverse areas make it impossible to know everything; I am a leader who is always learning.”
