ACLU Southern California: Court Protects Civil Rights of Unhoused People in San Bernardino Disability Rights Case

A US District Court judge granted a preliminary injunction in Tyson v. San Bernardino that prevents the City of San Bernardino from removing and displacing unhoused people and their belongings in the city. The lawsuit, which alleges constitutional rights violations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, was filed by three plaintiffs who have mobility impairments and are experiencing homelessness. The plaintiffs are represented by O’Melveny & Myers LLP, the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, and Santa Ana’s Elder Law and Disability Rights Center.
