Reuters Legal: Pence Aide Who Advised on Pandemic and Election Certification Returns to O'Melveny
April 8, 2021
Reuters Legal noted the forthcoming return of partner Greg Jacob to O’Melveny following a year of government service as counsel to former Vice President Pence. As Pence assembled the White House’s coronavirus task force in March 2020, his office tapped Jacob to discern how the Defense Production Act could be leveraged during the pandemic, this article reported. In his capacity as an advisor on all legal issues relating to the Office of the Vice President, Jacob also guided the Vice President on “the scope of his constitutionally prescribed duty to preside over the counting of Electoral College votes.”
“After an eventful year of public service, I am delighted to be returning home to O’Melveny,” said Jacob, whose resume also includes roles within the Justice and Labor departments under previous administrations.
