Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of bankrupt crypto firm FTX, will stand trial next week over embezzlement claims. Bankman-Fried’s lawyers have indicated that they will challenge the credibility of former FTX executives Gary Wang, Caroline Ellison, and Nishad Singh, who are set to testify against Bankman-Fried. “His lawyers will certainly ask the cooperating witnesses questions about his personality and his attention to detail that will try to support the idea that he was relying on other people,” said O’Melveny partner Rebecca Mermelstein, a former federal prosecutor.
