Bloomberg Law: DOJ Tactics Come Under Scrutiny After Chicken Price-Fixing Loss

Five former and current poultry executives were found not guilty of conspiring to price-fix broiler chicken products by a Colorado jury. The verdict marks the latest defeat in a string of losses that the Justice Department has had in antirust cases. “All other things being equal, this makes me more willing to roll the dice” in future trials against the DOJ, said O’Melveny partner Michael Tubach, who represented former Pilgrim’s Pride CEO Jayson Penn. O’Melveny partner Anna Pletcher also represented Penn.
