Bloomberg Law: First Latino Garcia Confirmed to Powerful DC Circuit Court

Bradley Garcia, a former O’Melveny & Myers partner, was confirmed to the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit by the US Senate, making him the first Latino judge to serve on the court. Garcia worked at O’Melveny from 2012 to 2022, delivering a total of 13 appellate arguments. O’Melveny partner Meaghan VerGow noted that Garcia’s willingness to consider alternative arguments and different perspectives is one of his strengths. That’s an “incredibly important characteristic in a judge and particularly a judge on an appellate bench where the stakes are higher,” VerGow said.
