CNN: Supreme Court Sides With Ex-Cuomo Aide and Buffalo Developer in Disputes Over Corruption Convictions

The US Supreme Court issued a decision today in favor of real estate developer Louis Ciminelli, who challenged the “right to control” theory of fraud in an attempt to overturn his conviction of bid rigging charges. Michael Dreeben, Ciminelli’s lawyer, argued that Ciminelli should be acquitted because the “right to control” theory is not presently supported by the government, even though it was used as the basis of the conviction.
