Daily Journal: Top Labor & Employment Lawyers 2023 featuring Robert Siegel

The Daily Journal has named O’Melveny partner Robert Siegel to its 2023 list of “Top Labor & Employment Lawyers,” which recognizes the leading California lawyers who specialize in labor and employment. Named to the list for a seventh time, Siegel was recognized for his many accomplishments within the past year, including representing major airlines in multiple labor disputes. Siegel represented United Airlines in a case brought by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), which claimed that the airline violated federal law by investigating misconduct claims against union officials. Showing that United does not have the option of ignoring allegations of retaliation, the US District Court for the District of Columbia agreed with Siegel and the O’Melveny team, finding no support for the union’s position. “That got a lot of attention just because not that many court decisions had directly addressed that kind of issue,” Siegel said.
