O’Melveny & Myers LLP has elected counsel Sergei Zaslavsky to its 2022 partner class. Based in the firm’s office in Washington, DC, Zaslavsky helped defend AT&T’s tie-up with Time Warner against a challenge from the Department of Justice. He also recently represented Bitcoin.com founder Roger Ver and software developers in United American v. Bitmain, the first federal antitrust case involving cryptocurrency. Communications technology company United American had alleged that providers of hashing computing power and others conspired to “hijack” an upgrade of bitcoin technology. The plaintiff accused Ver of being one of the conspirators. The US District Court for the Southern District of Florida dismissed the case in March.
