Law360: Broadcom’s US$61B VMware Deal Provisionally Cleared By UK

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Britain’s antitrust authority, approved Broadcom’s US$61 billion proposed acquisition of VMware Inc., a cloud computing and software service provider. The CMA noted that the proposed deal “would not substantially reduce competition in the supply of server hardware components in the UK.” O’Melveny & Myers LLP serves as legal counsel to Broadcom.
