California officials are expected to provide guidance on the state’s new pay transparency rules and employment and data privacy laws that go into effect this year. O’Melveny & Myers LLP special counsel Scott Pink noted that he is monitoring for the manner in which California’s new Privacy Protection Agency will enforce the state’s data privacy laws. “What’s unusual here is that you have two agencies that can enforce the law,” Pink said. “We have to keep an eye on who’s going to be the lead dog on enforcing this new law moving forward in 2023.”
