Signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo in April, New York’s new anti-sexual harassment law took effect this October. The new policy raises the baseline for employers’ sexual harassment policies and mandates annual sexual harassment training. “In terms of compliance, if [employers] already have policies and training in place, it's a matter of going through and conforming your existing policy and your training to what New York state and New York City now require,”said Jeffrey Kohn, managing partner of O'Melveny’s New York office. “I don't think it's a huge administrative burden ... but it does take time to be careful and make sure you're covering all the different aspects.”
