Michele Wein Layne, the former director of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Los Angeles office, has joined O’Melveny & Myers LLP as of counsel in the firm’s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Group. “I felt though that the time was right for me to make a change and bring my experience to the private sector after my long tenure, and I’m just very excited about the next chapter and the new challenges ahead,” said Layne, who will represent and advise corporate clients and their boards, committees, directors and officers on governance and compliance issues, internal and regulatory investigations, and securities-related enforcement matters.
