Law360: O’Melveny Opens Dallas Office With 4 Ex-Norton Rose Attys

O’Melveny has launched a new Dallas office, closely following the law firm’s first Texas office, which opened in Austin earlier this month, Law360 reported.
“Texas as a state becomes more and more relevant every day,” said Louis Strubeck, who joins as a partner alongside Scott Paul Drake, H. Douglas Wabner, and Gregory M. Wilkes in Dallas while Phillip Oldham, Rex VanMiddlesworth, Benjamin Hallmark, and Katie Coleman joined the firm as partners in Austin. “It was going to take a very special situation and a really special firm for me to make a move and O’Melveny checked off all the boxes on that,” Strubeck added.
O’Melveny chair Brad Butwin shared with Law360 that he considers Strubeck “the top bankruptcy lawyer in Texas and one of the top bankruptcy lawyers on the planet.” Butwin added that “it was just a very logical step to be able to get stronger in areas that were always strong and to be able to service long-standing clients of the firm even better.”
