Law360: ‘Uniquely Stupid’ Roche Comments Leave Bitfinex Judge Torn

US District Judge Katherine Polk Failla said during a court conference that Roche Freedman LLP founding partner Kyle Roche’s comments about an alleged plan to sue cryptocurrency companies were “uniquely stupid and unfortunate.” Roche Freedman LLP is representing a proposed class of plaintiffs in a market manipulation suit against Bitfinex Inc, Bittrex Inc., Poloniex LLC, and stablecoin tether. The defendants argued that Roche Freedman should be terminated from the case after an anonymous report from Crypto Leaks showed videos of Kyle Roche discussing a “secret pact” with Ava Labs to take down cryptocurrency competitors.
