The US Supreme Court reversed the conviction of Louis Ciminelli, a real estate developer who was accused of fraud relating to the “Buffalo Billion” project. In its ruling, the nation’s high court rejected the Second Circuit’s right-to-control theory of wire fraud, which was used as the basis of Ciminelli’s conviction. Ciminelli is represented by Michael Dreeben, Jenya Godina, Jason Zarrow, and L. Nicole Allan of O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
