Mergermarket: Broadcom to Acquire VMware for c. US$61bn, Assume US$8bn Net Debt

California-based semiconductor producer Broadcom announced its US$61 billion deal to acquire VMware, a cloud computing and virtualization software group. As part of the transaction, Broadcom will assume US$8 billion of VMware net debt. O’Melveny & Myers LLP serves as legal counsel to Broadcom.
