New York Law Journal: NYC Government Rolls Out Program to Harness Big Law Talent to Work Pro Bono for City Agencies

New York City is introducing a one-year fellowship program for young attorneys working at top-rated law firms to work with various municipal agencies. The program is aimed at exposing young lawyers to “the challenging and rewarding work we’re doing for New Yorkers,” said Brendan McGuire, NYC’s City Hall Chief Counsel. Additionally, the program will “provide the city with much-needed legal talent as it struggles to keep attorneys on its payroll while giving the fellows real-world experience.” O’Melveny & Myers LLP is one of the law firms participating in the program.
