Newsweek: Federal Judge Blocks Arkansas Abortion Ban, Says It’s ‘Categorically Unconstitutional’

US District Judge Kristine Baker issued a preliminary injunction to stop enforcement of a bill passed by Republican Governor Asa Hutchinson that would make nearly all abortions illegal in the state of Arkansas with no exceptions for rape or incest. Judge Baker called the bill “categorically unconstitutional,” Newsweek reported.
O’Melveny teamed with the ACLU, the ACLU of Arkansas, and Planned Parenthood of America to oppose the law, which was due to take effect on July 28.
