PBS: PBS NewsHour Remembers the Life of Walter Dellinger

February 16, 2022

PBS NewsHour reported on the death of constitutional scholar Walter Dellinger. Anchor Judy Woodruff cited Dellinger’s work as a Duke law professor and acting US Solicitor General under President Clinton. Calling him, an “institutional scholar,” she shared a 2012 interview with the program where Dellinger voiced his support for Obamacare’s individual mandate for health coverage. “Every Justice, every advocate, every journalist, they all have health insurance and they wouldn’t dream of doing without it,” Dellinger said. The segment also noted Dellinger’s work with the Biden presidential campaign’s transition team to fight legal attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Dellinger passed away at the age of 80.
