Reuters: Louisiana to Pay Abortion Case Legal Fees of US$3.8 Million

US District Judge John deGravelles approved a US$3.8 million fee settlement between the state of Louisiana and the Center for Reproductive Rights and other law firms in a case that challenged the state’s abortion restrictions. The plaintiffs, whose lawyers included teams from Morrison & Foerster, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, and the Rittenberg, Samuel & Phillips, sued the state in 2014 over a law that placed restrictions on doctors performing abortions.
