Reuters: O’Melveny lands veteran prosecutor, FBI counsel in Washington

Former senior prosecutor at the US Department of Justice David Harbach is joining O’Melveny’s white collar defense and corporate investigations practice. Harbach most recently co-led investigations at The Hague into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the Kosovo conflict in the late 1990s. “I knew that in the back of my mind upon our return, I was going to pursue opportunities in the private sector,” Harbach said while noting that O’Melveny was especially attractive because of its litigation practice, commitment to public service, and firm culture. The former Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and Eastern District of Virginia plans on advising O’Melveny’s clients on government and regulatory actions, internal investigations, corporate compliance, and civil litigation. “David has prosecuted everything from complex white-collar and violent-crime cases to narcotics and RICO cases, including various financial fraud, corruption, and campaign-finance violations, and most recently, crimes against humanity,” Steven Olson said, co-chair of O’Melveny’s white-collar defense and corporate investigations practice.
