Reuters: US Abortion Rights Groups and Law Firms Launch Legal Defense Network

A number of law firms and abortion rights organizations announced that they have formed the Abortion Defense Network, a group that will provide legal counsel to abortion patients and providers in need of representation. A dozen states have nearly banned abortion services in their entirety following the US Supreme Court’s decision last summer that overturned Roe v. Wade. The law firms participating in the program include Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP, Goodwin Procter LLP, Hogan Lovells US LLP, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
