Reuters: Why Biden’s infrastructure plan has Big Law firms licking their chops

The Biden administration’s proposed US$2.3 trillion infrastructure plan will be a net positive for the legal industry once it clears legislative hurdles, this article reported. A broad swath of practices will see growth as new spending bolsters project finance, policy and regulation, litigation, and tax activity. 

In preparation for the plan’s passage, O’Melveny has assembled an internal task force to address current and future client questions about how the proposal affects their operations. “The clients realize as well that the details are just not available yet, and probably not even determined yet,” said partner Denise Raytis, commenting on the plan’s current draft state. 

Eric Richards, co-chair of O’Melveny’s corporate department, added that the diverse talent on the firm’s task force can “literally address any question” clients pose.
