Supreme Court Brief: Jackson Reading Group | Fighting for Veterans | ‘Read the Opinion’

Some of the country’s top Supreme Court and appellate lawyers were part of the “practitioners reading group” within the ABA standing committee on the federal judiciary and “played a role in vetting the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.” The group unanimously determined that Jackson’s “professional competence is outstanding. Her opinions are well-written, persuasive, analytically rigorous and clear. She meticulously lays out the facts and procedural history, followed by a thorough discussion of controlling law and the application of the law to the facts of the case. She avoids unnecessarily broad pronouncements and refrains from opining on issues that are not squarely presented.” O’Melveny partners Michael Dreeben and Anton Metlitsky were members of the practitioners’ reading group.
