An O’Melveny team secured a stay of execution for capital defendant Melissa Lucio in her death penalty case. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ordered the trial court to consider new evidence in the case and examine if prosecutors suppressed evidence that would have been favorable towards Lucio. The O’Melveny team was led by associate Grace Leeper, included associates David Cohen, Jenya Godina, Jenn Beard, Kayla Evans and Andrew Hellman, and was supervised by partner Meaghan VerGow.
