The Deal: Coinbase, FairX Look to Crypto Derivatives

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global Inc. is purchasing Chicago-based FairX with plans to expand crypto-derivatives and “market derivatives of cryptocurrencies using FairX’s infrastructure and partnerships.” FairX allows investors to trade futures of crude oil and a number of stock indices. An O’Melveny & Myers LLP team led by C. Brophy Christensen, Noah Kornblith, and Wenting Yu advised Coinbase.
