The Deal: Rising Stars: New Partners at O’Melveny, Arnold & Porter

O’Melveny & Myers LLP has named a baker’s dozen of partners including one M&A partner in Silicon Valley and one in Beijing, while Arnold & Porter has promoted 14 to partner. O’Melveny & Myers LLP announced on Wednesday, Dec. 15, that it would promote 13 lawyers to partner including M&A lawyers Alan Bao in Beijing and Wenting Yu in Silicon Valley. Bao advised Yunfeng Capital, TF Capital, GIC Pte. Ltd. and management on the US$410 million purchase of Cellular Biomedicine Group Inc. earlier this year. Bao has law degrees from China University of Political Science and Law and the University of Southern California. Yu, meanwhile, has a broad corporate practice that includes cross-border, M&A and securities work. Last year she advised Pharmaron Beijing Co. Ltd. on its US$137.5 million purchase of Absorption Systems LLC and SigOpt Inc. on its sale to Intel Corp. (INTC). Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Yu has law degrees from Shanghai Normal University and Washington University in St. Louis.
