The Deal: Samsung Display to Acquire eMagin

Samsung Display Co. Ltd. will acquire microdisplay maker eMagin. As part of the deal, shareholders of the technology company will receive US$2.08 per share in a transaction valued at about US$218 million. Following the closing of the transaction — expected in the second half of 2023 — eMagin will keep its operations and facilities in Hopewell Junction, NY Samsung will provide resources and expertise to scale production, which eMagin expected will result in improved production capabilities in terms of yield, efficiency, and quality control.
